![]() Overview and first impressions of the new Photoshop, ImageReady, InDesign, Illustrator and GoLive With the announcement of its new Creative Suite, Adobe's done quite a bit more than just add a "CS" monicker to its creative applications. All of the company's design tools--Photoshop, ImageReady, Illustrator, InDesign and GoLive--have been given a significant overhaul in and of themselves and then tied together through core technologies to provide a whole new level of integration and streamlined workflow. We will, of course, bring you complete reviews, walkthroughs and tutorials when the final versions are released. But since I've had a chance to get a little hands-on with the new applications in the Creative Suite, I thought it worthwhile to go in depth into some of the new features and give you my first impressions.
These are two of....well....the cutest books you'll ever see. In the first release, 40 Digital Photography Techniques, John Kim showcases how a digital camera works and which one is really correct for your budget and what you intend on shooting. From there, Mr. Kim discusses the various accessories you'll need to get for your camera (hmmmm.....you mean if I get a tripod those shots won't look angled and distorted?!) and even which ways to stand at position while preparing your shots. Proper focus and lighting issues are also discussed in this book.

Macintosh Users Get Initial Taste of Website Management Program Many people ask me how they can update their website since their contracted web designer is no longer in business or their web staff has been eliminated. This would lead to problems for most situations because the individual wouldn't want to get into the website design issues but would just like to make a quick update. This is where Macromedia's Contribute would enter the picture.
![]() According to the SCRI/DMN Digital Media Facility Trends Report, Windows 2000 was the most commonly used platform in 2002 with over six in ten (62.2%) of the digital media facilities polled in the joint SCRI-DMO survey reporting using this platform. Mac OS ranked 2nd with just under half (47.6%) of all digital media facilities polled reporting using that platform in 2002. |
