3-D Viewing Experience Featured at East Coast Tourist Destination
Panasonic announced today the opening of the first Panasonic Digital 3-D Experience at the Broadway at the Beach entertainment complex in the heart of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Nestled around a lake on over 350 acres, Broadway at the Beach is the largest entertainment venue of its kind in South Carolina, with more than 10 million visitors annually, and offers dining, shopping, and entertainment.

NEC Increases Affordability of 42VP4, 42VP4D and 84VP4 Plasma Displays, MT860 and HT1000 Projectors
NEC Solutions (America), Inc. has made high-performance large-screen display technology more affordable with a $1,500 manufacturer's suggested retail price drop on its PlasmaSync 42VP4 and 42VP4D plasma display models and a $6,000 MSRP reduction on its 84" plasma solution, the PlasmaSync 84VP4. NEC is also making its projection technology a greater value with a $2,000US MSRP decrease for its MT860 installation projector and a $500US MSRP drop for the ShowCase Series HT1000 projector, which recently won a Recognizing Audio Visual Excellence (RAVE) Award from Home Theater Magazine as Best HD-Capable Projector.
New version gets workflow, feature enhancements
Apple today announced that DVD Studio Pro 2, the next generation of its professional DVD authoring suite, will be released Aug. 18. The new version has been demonstrated publicly since the NAB conference in April. It includes new functionality, integration features and workflow enhancements, along with a new price point of $499. Apple also says upgrades from any version of DVD Studio Pro run $199. Preorders are available now.
All-new venues to open this fall, first digital planetariums in Germany
Evans & Sutherland Computer Corp.'s new Digistar 3, already installed in a number of U.S. locations, will be coming soon to two planetariums located in northern Germany. The two all-new Digistar 3 theaters, Planetarium Hamburg (Ministry of Culture) and Mediendom Kiel (University for Applied Sciences), will open this fall. The planetariums have also purchased two E&S digital theater programs, Wonders of the Universe and New Horizons, and options for two additional shows from the E&S content library.
