At infoComm, Focus on Education
Eschew booths, seek sessions, seminars

Forget about the exhibits. Don’t plan your infoComm experience backwards. Most people attending infoComm plan their show experience around the exhibits and their ability to peruse the show floor and see all the manufacturers they need to see. Then, depending on the appointments they make and the meetings they attend in the booth they determine the left over time slots for taking in a course or two through infoComm’s extensive show educational offerings.

This Isn’t Your Dad’s Music Library
House, Punk, Mariachi, Trip-Hop…Forget about Middle-of-the-Road

The level of expectation for music on television — from documentaries to station IDs to news coverage — has risen about as high as tickets to a Stones show. One reason is that these days new artists are broken on TV — a careful listener will hear everyone from Thievery Corporation to Nick Drake scoring commercials. Anyone producing viable music libraries in 2003 has to have a great ear hearing the message contemporary radio is sending, access to a range of composers, and an eye toward newly relevant technologies such as the 5.1 surround sound supported by HD. Enhancing the usability of library music is critical too, either by making it easier for users to customize cues or facilitating access through Web searching and download.

Channel Storm Live Channel Pro 2.0
Streaming server and multimedia production suite

I reviewed the previous version of Channel Storm's Live Channel Pro and said it was not only the best streaming software available, but one of the best-written pieces of software available period. It's fast. It's simple. And it's incredibly efficient. So how does the new version 2.0 stand up against what I had previously considered to be almost a perfect application? It's even better.

Addicted to 3D with Cool 3D Studio

After working with Ulead COOL 3D Studio, we were stunned at how quickly we could create animated 3D objects, graphics, and text for presentation. If our client ever learns the low price of this powerhouse, we’ll be in serious trouble. But don’t let the price of this application be the only reason you check out COOL 3D.
