Service Contracts are Easy to Sell: Sell Job Security
Yet even some of the best sales people have a hard time selling them

If you're a regular reader of my columns, you know that our firm works with dealers, on occasion, to help them become more profitable. In some cases, it's a box company wanting to learn how to sell systems. In some cases, it's a systems integrator trying to sell design/build contracts. In some cases, it's a design/build firm trying to get better cost accounting on jobs. But, in almost all cases, they are all equally frustrated at the level of success they have selling their most profitable product: Service contracts.

Outsourcing Media Distribution
Companies turn to one-stop content management and distribution organizations

As information becomes more specialized and market segments get narrower, how do companies distribute their information? How can they make sure it's customized to suit the various levels of technical prowess of their customers and viewers? Hitting the Sweet Spot
HP’s xb31 Projector

What’s the perfect projector? It depends. Like many products, projectors tend to fall into logical categories. In this case, the categories are based on weight, brightness and price. Some buyers calculate how much weight they’re willing to lug around, and then try to maximize the brightness or price. Other buyers look for brightness or price, and then try to keep the weight within manageable limits. There are always tradeoffs. If you need 5,000 ANSI lumens, you can’t reasonably expect to find it in a four-pound projector.

Building Your Own Graphics Workstation, Part Three
The thrill/agony of making the machine yourself will teach you valuable lessons about life

This is it: the grand conclusion of our three-part series on building a graphics workstation from scratch, in which we flip the power switch and there's a funny smell. Not to worry! This is completely normal.

Spotted Eagle Soars with Photoflex Lighting Equipment

When Douglas Spotted Eagle earned the first-ever Grammy award for Native American music in 2001, it was one high point of a career spanning 15 albums and more than 20 years in the entertainment industry. Co-produced with Tom Bee, this live recording of the "Gathering of Nations 1999 Powwow" was also a natural evolution from the first-ever CD recording of Native American powwow music, which he produced in 1989.
