![]() In early September 2002, AVISCEL’s VP of Technology, Chas Thornhill, felt like David. His Goliath was AMX – his former employer, no less, who slapped him and his founding partners of AVISCEL with a $10 Million lawsuit. Well, almost four months later and night has turned to day and it appears David not only survived Goliath, as the suit has been settled, but AVISCEL has also released quickCUE -- an industry first, automated control system design and quotation tool. ![]() Confused by the torrent of announcements about new music and audio production gear pouring out of the NAMM 2003 convention? Finding it hard to separate the rumors from the facts? Here's our handy NAMM Product Guide listing manufacturers alphabetically with briefs on the announcements they're making. ![]() There's QuickTime authoring built into what? Have you ever been to one of those diners, maybe a greasy dive on the side of the highway, that has some variation of the time-honored slogan, "come for the [whatever you came for], stay for the [whatever they want you to stay for]" plastered on their roadside sign? You know, like, "come for the pie, stay for the down-home atmosphere," or "come for the chili, stay for the only bathrooms for 200 miles in any direction because you just had the chili." You can lock and edit files on the Web Workgroup Server using Adobe Photoshop 7.0, Adobe Illustrator 10, Adobe InDesign 2.0, Adobe LiveMotion 2.0, or even Macromedia Dreamweaver MX. Talks about his work on Disney's "Treasure Planet" video game and more When Disney announced their video game adaptation of the film “Treasure Planet,” they sought to find someone with a vast background in creating music for various types of media and production levels which led them to composer Billy Martin. I asked Billy about his background, work on the video game, tools of the trade and the one thing he's looking to accomplish in his career. Here is what he had to say. Tired of Hand-Me-Downs?
