No Shoot-Out at 2002 InfoComm
Manufacturers relieved, but attendees will miss it
by Denise Harrison, Producer
It’s a spectacular experience. You walk into a huge, pitch-black room, then as you come to the exhibits, your eyes feast on image after image, in row after row, where manufacturers show off their best, most entertaining pictures. The ICIA Projection Shoot-Out, part of the InfoComm trade show and conference since 1990, was the most popular part of the show. In the last couple of years, it has also been the most controversial.
The Business Benefits of Adequate Information Security
Evaluating the cost of a security breach
by Michael Bruck
How do you measure an investment when you are trying to prevent something from happening? How is ROI measured on insurance policies? How is it measured on information security programs? What is adequate security? These and similar questions are always asked by the C level officers especially the CEO and the CFO. Sometimes management of investments becomes a numbers game.

Training Wheels
LearnStream helps Canada's Clarica ease into its new identity, with new training to match
by Rock Stamberg , Photographs by Noel Chenier & Rob Blanchard
When Ken Reimer, LearnStream's president and CEO, met with representatives from Canada's Mutual Life Insurance Company at the Online Learning Conference in California in October 1998, Mutual Life was preparing to undergo a radical corporate facelift. The objective was to research various technology applications and methodology in order to update the traditionally instructor-led and text-based training that had been employed for years by the financial company's 300-plus Double-Diamond, or top-tier, field agents.
